For dummies, like me, who have never heard the word "Peafowl":
Male peafowl are referred to as peacocks, and female peafowl are referred to as peahens.
Live & learn.

Peafowl are some of the largest birds that can fly.
In fact, the chicks have all of their feathers when they emerge and are capable of flight roughly one week after hatching.
They are also known for their aggressive disposition, so we'd be careful with the insults.

👍⭐ Indeed a Peacock is a male Peafowl. There's a name that precedes this latter, that we're giving an extra star for 🙂 ❤️🦜

As a male this is an Indian peacock. They’re quite lovely but I vastly prefer the green aka Java green peafowl. Even made a peacock based character recently! Or rather, two!

Grandma delighted in visiting the Peafowl at Palos Verdes. (She asks why we didn't bring something to feed them)❤ .
The video cuts off right before she said
''Come here pretty birdie and let me pet you."🥰
The last photo is her waving goodbye from her chair in the living room. #BlessedMemories

It's true! There were dozens wandering around Lokrum Island - a long-eared owl landed in a tree nearby, which prompted the peafowl to make the most amazing noise until the owl flew off!

If I were able to purchase a plot of land out in the country, I'd have a pack of peafowl, as well as a couple of emus. Greatest alarm and security system.

[ SNORT!! Head shaking she proceeded to chase after the peafowl in a playful mood. ]
Easy.
[ Especially with how large she was in comparison, go easy on the bird. Following after them with a small chuckle. ]
