That’s because, unless you are doing a daily PCR test, it is scientifically impossible to know if you’re infectious and just asymptomatic or pre-symptomatic. I applaud ppl taking precautions then they’re knowingly sick, but it’s a roughly 50% chance that they “feel fine” when they’re infectious

Dass ein positiver Schnelltest einen Verdacht begründet und auch der Verdacht meldepflichtig ist, wird von den meisten Ärzten leider ignoriert.

The PCR positivity map is out, and levels have dipped slightly this week.
Although the number of areas not reporting has gone up this week, we adjust for that on the map's total, so we can be sure it's a real drop.

While neither of my parents have graduate degrees, my youngest sister is so clearly benefiting from having three older siblings with graduate degrees.
I'm helping her with her GRFP application. We helped her troubleshoot PCR last week. She graduated almost debt-free due to scholarship tricks.

It's always striking seeing other academics talk about their academic parents and be reminded that close to a quarter of all tenure-line academics have at least one PhD parent.
That's not a critique, but I always wonder how different it would be to have a parent who already understood academia.

Entsprechende Markerimpfstoffe, die das auch per Schnelltest können, sind in der Entwicklung. Ob es mit den bereits Zugelassenen auch geht, kann ich nicht sagen, bin kein Vet. Für andere Erreger gibt es entsprechende PCR-Tests, die unterscheiden können.

Et puis, imagine, on bataille pour la prévention et le remboursement des tests PCR sans ordonnance, mais nan, relayons plutôt N. Berrod qui affiche un taux de remboursement à 60% au détriment des tests PCR sans jamais parler de prévention.

My boy was diagnosed by accident (long story). The eventual diagnosis came after they drained fluid from his lungs for biopsy and PCR. There are different forms (wet, dry) that can affect different organs, so diagnosing can be different depending on how the illness is presenting.
