It's a hard one. A couple of the best books I've read recently were beyond that, but still a major publisher taking a risk. And, obviously, a couple of others were barely longer than 50k.

Elanga wasn't our first choice though, Mbeumo was, but we lost out to Man Utd

When I tell you this is an excellent thread from @tressiemcphd.bsky.social who has always been brilliant in general, it’s excellent. And then others chimed in. You want to read this.
It doesn’t matter what I think. Also, none of this would ever happen. But if I had a zillion dollars:
1. Run a “we do hard things” campaign across southern and rust belt states. Invest heavily in local, state and regional social infrastructure. Sponser later hours at a library, build a skate park…

If I were to sum up my advice to the Democratic party leadership about how to defeat Trumpism, it would be to set aside policy for now and focus instead on articulating a vision of what American society should look like and what role the US should play in a rapidly changing world today.

Being a single working Mom, these were often all we had. We were stretched tight, but made it. I was lucky enough to have an Aldi close by. My son got a job at 13. I can't believe that the GOP is actively taking a lifeline away. We are not meant to live this way so that others prosper and we starve
