Vordio 6.11 will be out tomorrow. New stuff is mostly more complete support for OTIO (OpenTimelineIO) format from Davinci Resolve. Plus a few minor improvements & fixes too.

What’s new in Vordio 6.11? OpenTimelineIO (.otio, .otioz) OTIO is a relative new interchange format that is rapidly becoming introduced into various editing software. The first NLE to release support for OTIO is Davinci Resolve by Blackmagic. Vordio 6.11 introduces much more complete & well tested support for .otio & .otioz files from Davinci Resolve. REAPER (.RPP) When writing RPPs track heights are now minimised only when a track is empty. AAF (.aaf) Fixed bug preventing loading of AAFs from HAL CUT-IT application. FCPX XML (.fcpxml) improved reporting of missing clips in fcpxml output added fix for empty items preventing fcpxml output FCP XML (.xml) Added sequence markers to output. Added empty dummy video track to output. Some NLEs could not load XML without a video track.

A presentation slide showcases the animated film Flow, directed by Gints Zilbalodis. Text reviews describe the film as “A Wondrous Triumph” and “Simply Stunning.” The right side of the slide highlights that Flow is the first Academy Award winner for Animated Feature Film made entirely with Blender, an open source 3D creation suite. It lists several open source tools used in the production, including OpenColorIO, OpenEXR, OpenVDB, MaterialX, OpenImageIO, Open Shading Language, and OpenTimelineIO. It also mentions the use of other open source projects like OpenUSD and Alembic.

I mean, they are free to use and you can parse them in whatever way you want. It's just that they assume many things on the inner workings of Audacity which generally aren't helpful to other programs. I recommend using DAWproject or OpenTimelineIO instead. github.com/bitwig/dawpr...

Mon plus gros frein c'était l'interopérabilité avec des formats style OMF/AAF, même EDL j'étais prêt à accepter, il faut que je puisse échanger avec des gens potentiellement

Et puis avec Kdenlive j'ai découvert OpenTimelineIO (supporté par Resolve et en beta chez... Adobe 😮‍💨)

Oh that's annoying. Looks like #DavinciResolve sometimes includes media references in OpenTimelineIO format that doesn't include a reference to an actual media file.

Kdenlive doesn't work on Android. LumaFusion doesn't work on Linux. This is an example of what OpenTimelineIO would attempt to solve.

I could say the same for images too. we have .svg which is pretty good but not really innovating anymore, and outside of that, the way you move project files between apps is usually w/ horribly undocumented Adobe formats like .psd or .ai
video is also in a similar spot, but there is OpenTimelineIO?
