#OpenMindedness
We lost a dear former colleague last week. I had the honour of joining the Faculty of Education at MSVU the year before he retired in 2008. His work on Openmindedness in Education has been recognized far and wide. Rest in peace.

Went in ready for a fight and found connections and opportunities. All it took was the power of the pause and some openmindedness on my part. What a gift.

I think whoever made that article confused openmindedness with creative... racism

Not insults. Just the racism.

like openmindedness, it's possible to be so cynical that your brain falls out

I want to acknowledge that learning can be hard, painful, slow, and it is worth every hard fought battle to continue growing. Celebrate openmindedness. Embrace opportunity. Welcome diverse ideas. They are your teachers. #growthjourney

Excellent observation! Even then, we had to have some attraction to new people and things or the gene pool would collapse. Maybe our brains outstripped our ability/willingness to discern between good different and bad different 🤔😄.
It seems important that we can teach openmindedness to children...

Genuinely surprised Mr Rogers was allowed to die a natural death, coz this kind of woke stuff, the acceptance, the support, the openmindedness, usually gets shot before they're 40 :P That dude was so special, radiated such loving energy, if he was around now trump would ban him :P

His openmindedness has proven a weakness when it's come to his Unheard friends. Like other British/Irish lefties who get tempted by reactionary ideas *cough*Nagle*cough* he's too self conscious of post-left tropes to fully leave the tent, but not aware of the thought he's absorbed from the right

Warning: the first episode features a pretty obnoxious example of fridging. I'm pretty sure it was a Suit "suggestion" for episode to the writing team, but I implore y'all in the #WarriorNun fandom not to judge us or the show for it. The #WheelofTime fandom thanks you for your openmindedness.

openmindedness and being able to understand and cherish various traditions for what they are (and not what other people want them to be) is so important! It is just another approach of cultural appropriation.
Another reason is that this translation oversimplify the complexity of reality. There is

One thing I think people haven't observed enough is how social media manipulation is particularly effective on "liberal psychology" i.e.: openmindedness.

Twitter's ideological manipulation really relies on openmindedness and "taking the temperature" and reacting to the vibe, because the algorithm can't give you epistemology but it will absolutely give you vibe, temperature, and alternatives to listen to
A lot of pundits go bad because they stop learning anything. Klein is better than many pundits at staying engaged enough to learn new things.

The problem is that he has learned a lot of stuff that is wrong. He trusts pundit consensus too much to check it against reality.

Really disappointing when their openmindedness and anti-censorship stance was the main reason I put up with their many user interface issues. And what drew me here over tumblr. Time to move on, maybe try pillowfort out.
The whole bsky TOS update is garbage but they're also deciding to go full steam ahead with censoring creative expression

I want to live in the middle of the Venn diagram of art, sex, ethics, curiosity, openmindedness, humor, and protest...

So why do so many people judge me?

Yeah. You're right. Children carry a lot of joy and openmindedness that I feel a lot of adults could use. Even though my godmom outright told me I was immature when I asked, she said it wasn't a bad thing

to make myself more clear, the veneer of acceptance and openmindedness clouded by an incessant need to extend that openmindedness to pedophiles and racists, but not to black people. it's confusing.

Openmindedness does not make a person transphobic. The ability to understand both sides apparently is a gift not had by everyone.

Why does it have to be so difficult for everyone, who is slightly different? Why is it so difficult to be open-minded and to accept and support people? #acceptance #openmindedness
