#NebraSkyDisk
There’s a good reason @barbaraagrass.bsky.social and I have spent the last couple of days driving back and forth across the width of Germany. 😀

We went to see the fabulous #NebraSkyDisk, one of the earliest (c.1800 BC) depictions of astronomical phenomena linking lunar and solar cycles.

#Nightly #Lunascope Apr 25 – Dawn may be your last chance to see the #Moon for awhile. It enters the area of sky on the #NebraSkyDisk, but the Sun is nearby, so time is short before dawn when #BronzeAge astronomers can make out #Pisces and the Moon. #LunarCalendar #archaeoastronomy #astrology

Nightly #Lunascope for 2025 Jan 9. The #Moon continues across the #NebraSkyDisk, passing by the #Pleiades star cluster, as it journeys towards a #FullMoon.

Nightly #lunascope for 2025-01-07. Using the procedure mapped out on the #NebraSkyDisk, combining #astrology and #BronzeAge #astronomy (they were the same thing once), we can decide if the new year requires a midsummer leap lunar month (yay!) or not (boo!)

Tonight's #lunar #horoscope as observed from #stonehenge. Uses knowledge decoded from the #nebraskydisk, and ancient and modern #astronomy, which is older than today's sun and planet-based #astrology.

The Nebra Sky Disc is so cool & one of the earliest artefacts depicting astronomical phenomena ⭐️ Did you know - the gold & tin metals were sourced from Corwall, England!
