#NatGeoExplorer Paul Salopek tells Host Carolyn Beeler about his walk across South Korea’s Saemangeum, a tidal flat on the coast of the Yellow Sea. It was once home to all kinds of birds, mammals, and snakes. Now isolated behind a 22-mile sea wall, the mud flat has lost most of its wildlife.

I am #FirstGen in #EarthSciences & now a #GSA_Fellow, #NatGeoExplorer & Department Chair. I can attest that it has been a difficult rise. When I made Full prof, colleagues I personally knew but had not worked with tried to claim I had the record of an Assistant Professor. We must due better. 🧪
