Wie is hij? Hij stemt FvD en werkt als juridisch beleidsmedewerker bij de onafhankelijke statenfractie van Albert van Dijk (vroeger FvD). Zelf heeft hij ook wel op de kieslijst van FvD gestaan. Ted blijkt een uitzondering: in een omgeving waarin veel jongeren terughoudend zijn, durft hij openlijk voor zijn standpunten uit te komen. Waarom? De FvD kreeg zijn stem omdat hij het eens is met de oplossingen die de partij aandraagt voor klimaat, energie, landbouw en buitenlandbeleid. „Oare partijen beneame problemen, Forum draacht konkrete oplossingen oan.” Daarnaast spreekt het pleidooi voor meer democratisering hem aan: meer autonomie voor provincies en gemeenten. „Ik wit net oft de jongeren dy FvD stimme dêrop oanslaan. Foto: Niels Westra Negatieve ervaringen Het wantrouwen dat daaruit voortkomt, komt volgens hem niet uit complottheorieën, maar uit de dagelijkse praktijk. „Het zijn mensen die dingen in het leven hebben meegemaakt. Gedoe met instanties, gezondheidsproblemen, financiële zorgen. Wie zulke ervaringen heeft, vertrouwt instituties niet meer vanzelf.” Dat wantrouwen is op zich niet verkeerd, zegt De Voogd. Instanties functioneren vaak vanuit hun eigen leefwereld. Veel te eenzijdig, vindt hij. „De Raad van State leek er in haar pleidooi om statushouders voorrang te geven op huurwoningen van uit te gaan dat elke andere woningzoekende een eigen netwerk heeft waar hij terechtkan. Dat is een veel te optimistisch beeld van de werkelijkheid.”

复活节岛上的石像Moai。当时我可喜欢研究这个岛了，就是因为玩大航海时代在一个遥远的孤岛中发现了这个遗迹。当时有很多书籍把这些石像说得很神秘，我看着是不靠谱的了，但那个时代要找信息可不是这么容易，只有在书店有限的地理或地图册中找到对这个地方简短的介绍，剩下的就是遐想。直到很多年以后互联网兴起，在网上看到一篇文章叫《复活节岛的悲剧》，才对复活节岛有了深刻的印象。当时我对这个作者还不熟，没想到后来他的科普文章会对我产生深远影响。
