It's clear this is a thing. It needs to stop. It's a violation of academic integrity and a moral character issue. Also defeats the point of education.

The lawless killing spree at sea resumes in the Pacific.

Not holding my breath on the survivor being rescued.

Things to say about #MilitaryEthics, expertise and Professional Judgement and Discretion but it feels too late and besides the point at this juncture.

American officers know what Trump is planning, and their minds will rebel at directives to take everything they’ve prepared to do for years and apply it backwards, against the allies they have trained to work with and protect.

The Military Is Being Forced to Plan for an Unthinkable Betrayal
Attacking an ally would be a perversion of everything the armed forces have been trained to do.

“For the families of Danish soldiers who died in the American-led campaign against the Taliban, their country’s partnership with the United States is not an abstraction. Denmark’s loyalty to America brought Sophia Bruun to Afghanistan, and it ended her life.”
“We have done so much for America”: Denmark fought alongside the U.S. in Afghanistan. Now, as Trump eyes Greenland, the families of fallen soldiers have a message for him, @isaacstanleybecker.bsky.social reports:

We’re already at the point where the Joint Chiefs should’ve resigned their commissions in protest.
Maybe it puts me on the outs with lawyers and defense people, but there is no scenario in which U.S. military officers should carry out orders to attack a NATO ally. They should disobey and elected Democrats should back them up.

Nazi orders were also lawful and "just following" them was no excuse.

Breaking NYT:

The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.

The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.

That is a war crime called "perfidy."

Cool, cool.

This is premeditated killing outside of armed conflict.

The lawless killing spree continues.

The administration justifies this slaughter by claiming there’s an armed conflict.

But it won’t even tell the U.S. public who the supposed enemies are.

Of course, there’s no armed conflict.

And outside armed conflict, we call premeditated killing murder.

Honestly, this is the right moment for “shameless” promotion. When leaders twist the warrior ethos, it’s the rank and file who pay the price. Ethics aren’t academic- they’re armor for service members. #MilitaryEthics #NationalSecurity #Leadership
