#Microrobotics
Putting this out there 👀 I’m fascinated by microrobotics & nanorobotics and want to start working in these fields. I’ve tried COMSOL Multiphysics, and my VFX sim / tech art background feels oddly transferable.

Another interesting challenge in microrobotics is how to control separate robots separately. Usually it is not possible to have onboard signal parsing capability, control methods r mechanical in nature. A funny common solution is to make the robots u don’t want to respond to your commands get stuck

Smartlets Take Microrobotics to the Next Level, with Fingertip-Sized Robots
A dozen robots, each smaller than a grain of sand, sit on your fingertip. These are smartlets, tiny marvels from Chemnitz University of Technology that pack a lot of tech into their millimeter sized bodies. Developed by a team led by Prof. Oliver G. Schmidt, these water robots move, sense and talk to each other in water, and could one day monitor lakes or swim through our bodies for medical diagnostics.

Electrically controlled hydrogel cilia, matching the size and motion of natural cilia, demonstrate rapid, durable actuation and offer new possibilities for biomedical devices and microrobotics.
Hydrogel cilia set new standard in microrobotics
Cilia are micrometer-sized biological structures that occur frequently in nature. Their characteristic high-frequency, three-dimensional beating motions (5–40 Hz) play indispensable roles inside the body.

Microrobots Revolutionize Precision Drug Delivery
In the relentless pursuit of precision medicine, a groundbreaking development in microrobotics promises to revolutionize targeted drug delivery. Researchers at the University of Michigan and the University of Oxford have unveiled a novel class of microrobots—termed permanent magnetic droplet-derived microrobots (PMDMs)—that can be precisely steered within complex biological environments to administer therapeutics exactly where needed. This innovation addresses a key limitation of conventional intravenous drug delivery, which notoriously directs less than one percent of administered drugs to the intended tissue, often causing systemic side effects and reduced efficacy.
