I want to follow up on the difference between ALT on Bluesky, & ALT in HTML.

@aslakr IIRC that's how you can use KaTeX ahead-of-time.
But nobody wants to write in MathML syntax as the source. That should be generated from a more human-friendly form.

i will say that they are pretty decent at some drudgery work - I wanted a vision model to extract definitions from lecture notes and then create flash cards based on them - using the mathml format for displaying them

I'm not sure if this is the fault of the Firefox engine's MathML renderer or the fault of the Pandoc module that generated the MathML code from the source LaTeX, but one of them needs more time in the oven

Currently on my list of things to search for and turn off:
Things with the letters "ml" used suspiciously. (Obviously html and mathml don't count, be judicious)
"aichat" in anything
Anything making a "nimbus" - I have to delete the key, change to a boolean, and make it false.

There are quite a few side/adjacent projects, but none of them are fully accessible yet.
MathML looks pretty close and I believe the LaTeX project are seriously looking into making its exports accessible now.

@pfrazee.com AT protocol newb Q: If a scientist wants to include a snippet of math in a post, would that depend on a new facet to be created by BlueSky? Or would they just embed (UTF-8 based) MathML or maybe LaTex, and then a viewer would need to be using some kind of specialised client to render?
