Health care advocates say Republican lawmakers are deliberately dismantling the health care system to protect tax breaks for their ultra-wealthy donors. After more than $1 trillion in Medicaid cuts and the loss of ACA subsidies, over 30,000 Mainers could lose coverage.

Troy Jackson unveiled a bold Contract with Working Mainers—a plan to lower costs and make Maine work for the people who power it.

Actually, the world, including even Mainers who seem to think they don't have to take part, needs to add or refurbish over 80 million kilometers of transmission lines—the equivalent of the entire existing grid.

Thankfully your Governor Mills helped get it done.

Most mainers are not climate science deniers lol. I dont think you've read up on why everyone hates it.
December 17, 2025 at 3:17 PM
Sorry to hear that a majority of Mainers, including Graham Platner, are climate science deniers, but based on y'all keeping Susan Collins in power for so long, I guess it was pretty obvious sadly.

He's busy supporting the wildly inexperienced & wholly unqualified white dude from Maine (& others) who leapfrogged to run for US Senate and ram a very troubled candidate with a crappy record against women because Mainers think it doesn't matter their Senator brings that scat to the entire country.

Over 30,000 Mainers could lose health coverage due to large Medicaid cuts and the expiration of ACA tax credits. When coverage disappears, families delay care and hospitals struggle to keep their doors open.

Way to go Mainers. Public pushback on data centers is happening across America. People don't like paying more on energy/water, and losing productive community space, to benefit #TechBroBillionaires Hope to see more of this in Virginia and Ohio @pwcdanica.bsky.social

In this moment, we're helping Mainers stay in their homes as cold weather hits. We're training builders across the state, strengthening our local workforce. And we're establishing our physical HQ in Freeport, a space to meet, work, plan, learn and collaborate. Join us!

The Downeaster's biggest sale of the year is back, $26 round trip (or less) anywhere on the route for January travel. Promo code V530. That is round trip tickets for $10 less than the average one way fare!

Literally over 50% off!

Can't imagine how you got that.

Again the context is I have close relations with non-white Mainers and I am speaking in defense of a POC Mainer I trust based on history to be one of those opinions. She articulated valid concerns and doesn't seem to buy simplistic/binary takes.

Name a local voice.

STILL not answering the question!

What about the other Mainers of minority descent who DON'T defend Platner? Do their opinions not count?
December 16, 2025 at 10:43 PM
Thank you for the kind words. Mills can legitimately claim some legislative achievements, and I am in no way trying to argue she hasn’t improved things for some Mainers, but as someone that voted for her, I have become increasingly frustrated with her opposition to many progressive proposals.
December 16, 2025 at 10:23 PM
I repeat: you defend her because she says things you want to hear.

What about the other Mainers of minority descent who *don't* defend Platner? Do their opinions not count?
December 16, 2025 at 10:11 PM
I'm sure she believes she does serve all Mainers. Mills just disagrees with you about what policies do that. Also she's quite aware that Maine is not a progressive state by and large. The policies that read as most progressive in Maine are libertarian and pro-voting rights.
December 16, 2025 at 9:52 PM
Her stances on labour issues are not simply a “weakness”—they cause real harm, to real people, right now.

Our assessment of Gov Mills’ tenure shouldn’t be based on how strong or weak it makes her Senate candidacy.

It should be based on how strong or weak she has been in working for all Mainers.
December 16, 2025 at 9:36 PM
You are right about my wanting Mills to be a full-throated progressive on all issues (we should be so lucky), but wrong about wanting her to take whatever groups have put together.

And she was elected to serve all Mainers, not just those that she can rely on to fund her political campaigns.
