Meet Berlin’s brutalist Mäusebunker (“mouse bunker”). Built in 1981 as an animal laboratory for the Freie Universität, the controversial building has sat empty since 2019. Threatened with destruction, the city decided in 2023 to instead give the Mäusebunker a historic designation and new use. 🐭
