#LoadTime
they didn't compress files, they deduped them. duplicate files is a (rather silly) solution to an issue that only exists on mechanical drives, so if you're on an SSD this was a 85% filesize reduction as zero real loadtime cost

Don't you hate it how a #site is super slow to display?
If your #loadtime is more than a second, you can easily say goodbye to a significant number of visitors.
Try the Google #SpeedInsights test to verify your results.
Try to aim for above 95, to be on the safe side.

The most elegant solution would be if you had to press a button to continue so you're not forced through an unnecessary loadtime but you get time to prepare as well.

+ It's clear that the devs have huge respect for the whole Rune Factory series, it's fun to see refs to other RF games!
+ Characters are very charming and even ones I wasn't remotely interested in have won me over
- Switch 1 version has loadtime issues and lower res shadows/textures, otherwise fine!

I have spent the last few days optimizing my raycast queries. I am using a ‘BVH’, which is pretty much a fancy subdivided octree holding references to subsets of triangles of a bigger mesh. Generated at loadtime:

Thanks for double checking :) I did indeed had a typo there.

Tried on mobile browser (Android) and it seems to work properly. The loadtime is a bit high, but around 10 seconds later I get a loginpage.

Anything else I can try to use your service on my desktop again?

dunno if loadtime is a variable, though i've taken to using
await this.page.waitForLoadState('domcontentloaded');
for damn near everything.
...
also would argue for adding 'garr'

TIL that when you change map in UE all your global parameter collections (material and Niagara) get wiped. Includes when joining or hosting a multiplayer session. I guess it makes sense but it wasn't intuitive and I had some odd bugs as a result

So got a bit into Spiderman 2 on PC last night. Some slowdown sure, few reload checkpoint to get out of something. Very long loadtime even on a PCIE4.0 drive.

But still playable.

Weird issue after going out of said game though back into windows however.

I thought Loadtime decided to charge full price for the inconvenience in the end?

Upgraded my PC yesterday! Now I can run all games that I have (the most recent 'graphically intense' game I own is NieR:Automata but anyway) at max graphical settings at 60fps! Although a little on a cheaper side, I think it's a great purchase!
(My previous score was ~6800/ and 28 sec of loadtime)

Nvm the game lag literally told me to gtfo lmao, the loadtime between areas is insane rn for some reason 🫠
