For what it’s worth, the #lithiumvalley specific plan update, which is being finalized by the county, has lots of new areas rezoned from ag/farmland to renewable energy. bsky.app/profile/dust...
One reason that imperial county has built so much solar without any fuss is that they got a grant way back from California Energy Commission to update their general plan zoning/overlay to accommodate solar development. They’ve actually approved far more solar on farmland than has been built to date.
