This sign I spotted at Lindos (Rhodes) is an interesting example of nominally bilingual signage that in practice, highlights the English and backgrounds the Greek. It's pretty clear who needs guidance for getting around the (lovely) town...

Nice reminder of a thread I did on Twitter about all the dental clinics in Seoul named after different places in the US, Canada, Australia, and UK, and then outside of Seoul in Korea, there are dental clinics named after Seoul neighborhoods.

Sometimes municipal signage does change for the better: After the #Jerusalem municipality revamped their signs in the city center, the Arabic on this "Sukkat Shalom" sign looks much improved, compared to the older, incorrect "Iskat Shalom" version

Today alone, I drove by four ads for Friend, a wearable AI device that is actively being marketed as a companion. Someone decided to #annotate one of the ads. They crossed out "Friend" and wrote "Your real friends have souls."

Quite the fun Korean sign that is taking 'hello' (안녕하세요) and making a fun pun with 'shrimp' (새우), which works in Korean, I believe.
Not sure what more is happening in the sign, but it is a neat part of the food truck #LinguisticLandscape!

Was at a #LedbyDonkeys #Guardian event last night and reminded by the set how much their interventions rely on appropriating signifiers from the #LinguisticLandscape like HiViz jackets, signage, and formulaic language to evade barriers like security guards and police to get their massage through. 👍👏
