Forgoing the usual secondary battery of dual purpose guns, the sloop puts all its eggs into a battery of 73mm heavy point defence cannons, 8 of the 12-barrelled rotary kind and 4 of the twin barrelled gast-gun type creating an extremely potent defensive net that exceeds even ships designed for it. Despite being nearly a hundred metres longer than contemporary cruisers, the kind retained the sloop size-designation as it lacked the acceleration curves of the multi-engined cruisers, having only a single prograde and a single retrograde engine. Perhaps best described as a Pre-dreadnought, the Blueden-class is in essence a shortened Bluesmith-class, using the same aft construction and bridge area, allowing for much cheaper procurement and theoretical conversion into a 1st rate, though this has not been done. The class is named for Niku Shi'den, the main leader of the fleet in the Centrian Independence War (1.2 Hegemony). A screenshot of an Obsidian Document, the text reads: Pegada-type Carrack The Pegada-type Carrack was a design created by The Free Company of Mark Antonio Latim, and Associates, as a proposed upgrade to the Republic of Centria Navy's Vagadal-class Cruisers to better suit pirate hunting for the new navy. 7 of the 15 Centrian Vagadals were converted before the Falkreth War broke out. With the loss of the Vagadal-class General Somaler the program was discontinued and all the ships were either auctioned off, or scrapped with the unconverted ships. Faced with a much less profitable venture than initially anticipated, The Free Company of Mark Antonio Latim, and Associates, decided to start converting ships for their own efforts and that of other privateers. They later purchased a license for production of Vagadals, and alongside the recently created Antonia Marcus Shipyards began building Pegada-type ships, due to the popularity of the conversion. The 750mm Rail-laid cannon was developed specifically for the ship, and a later version would be used on the Greylance-class Battleship, and the BB Alfai Greendrist. The conversion is primarily characterised in an almost complete removal of the primary battery, reducing it down to 2 single mounts in the bow. The addition of laser armament cuts ammunition costs rapidly, alongside switch to the cheaper 20mm ammunition type, and the newly minted 94mm Flak ammunition, with more yield than the Terran 76mm, but lower fire rate, making a more potent anti-ship weapon but reducing its effectiveness in the anti-missile department. To make up for this shortcoming, 178mm Multiple launch missile batteries are mounted instead, with primary anti-capital capabilities coming from the keel-mounted railgun. Alongside the primary battery changes, the aft landing pads were given a structure for mounting external pods, the Latim-type Interchangeable backpack system, and the underside gained some boarding netting. Numerous changes were also made to the internal systems, swapping out the LiDAR and Radar for better ones, restructuring the mess hall, and retrofitting the captain's cabin with a hammock and ship's mast. The ship is designed for the most compact package with high firepower, and this results in tiny living quarters. Despite this, the Ketch is one of The Free Company of Mark Antonio Latim, and Associates' best selling ships and is famed for its use on both sides of the law - despite the Free Company's best efforts. Due to the lightweight construction and poor armour - an attempt to cut costs and build a ship more for backline support than dogfighting - the Ketch has exceptionally good SCM, even rivalling some fighters. An attempt to fix the craft's poor ergonomics resulted in the Jhecra-type Ketch, though this would see limited production, and would only see service with the Free Company.
