We have a DVD player out from the #LibraryOfThings atm, & it works well—better than a combo VCR/DVD console I fished out of the garage months ago. We used it to watch BEETLEJUICE—also checked out from the library—which I liked much better than I had as a teenager, & finished in 3 sessions w/ my kid.

The Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Maine doesn't just lend out books to community members. The library also houses a "Library of Things," where people can borrow household items, like sewing machines, lobster pots, and mini golf sets.

Okay new idea for a library service: leave a hobby take a hobby. When people get bored with a hobby they can come and leave their supplies and books and half-finished things, and exchange them for someone else’s supplies and books and half-finished things. Hobby swap.

Dropped the wedding gazebo, tables and stove back to #exeter #libraryofthings, gave my name and the volunteer said "Oh, I recognise that name! Did you borrow the Dremel for months?" And yes, um yes I did. I suppose it's nice to be recognised but I'm not sure how I feel about that one 😂
