Fabio do Rego has been entrusted with the responsibility of leading Julinho Athletic FC’s ambitious project following the ascension of ex-chairman Dino Ballotti to Cabinet. Ballotti stepped down as chairman of the club on 22 March, following his appointment as deputy minister of Education, Innovation, Youth, Sport, Arts and Culture. He spearheaded the club’s vision for a comprehensive football network from grassroots to the highest level following the merger of Julinho Sporting FC, Girls & Goals FC and Athletic Club Football Academy to form Julinho Athletic Football Club (JAFC). “The entire Julinho Athletic family extends heartfelt congratulations on this milestone achievement. We express profound gratitude for his remarkable contribution to the club’s growth, professionalism and community impact during his time as chairman,” Julinho Athletic said in a statement announcing the leadership transition yesterday. The club believe Do Rego to be a suitable replacement for Balloti given that he is a long-time supporter and passionate advocate of football development in Namibia.
