In a heartbeat. I *loved* the Intellivision growing up. My best friend had one.

Lol that was exactly how it was!
I was the Commodore guy, Chris had the TRS80, Earl had the Intellivision, Kevin had the Atari, Perry got the Colecovision. We just rotated houses for whatever we felt like playing. ☮️❤️

Well, yeah. But the optics of "ATARI BUYS INTELLIVISION" would have blown some kids' minds a few short decades ago!

The Console Wars of ‘78-84 were intense

Kelly’s PONG was supplanted by David’s Atari

My Intellivision came on strong, then Chal’s Colecovision wowed us

Steph got a cassette-based TRS80 before Todd got his Vic 20 and JJ a Commodore 64

Then real computers showed up to confuse us

In other news: Atari owning Intellivision and releasing a new console/emulator for it is very amusing news for those of us who fought in the Video Game Wars of the late '70s/early '80s.

Anyway, George Plimpton is spinning in his grave.

It seems like Atari is going to release real Intellivision hardware before the Amico ever comes out.

We had an Atari and Intellivision before that. I had only seen games like Pac Man and Digger at Pizza Hut. Maybe the marketing went over my head, because I had no clue what this new thing was when my parents brough home an NES. And somehow this same console pumped out Super Mario 3.

This might be a hard pass for me as it's not cartridge based. Atari kinda dropped the ball on this one. Plus, my Intellivision Flashback console has almost all the 45 games (plus 15 more) that come with this. I do like the wireless controllers, though.

Omg I LOVED Intellivision!!!
The Tommy Tallarico era is officially over 🙌

I also love that they're bringing back and reimagining the controller overlays. Such a beautifully unique aspect of the original Intellivision.

The difference in sheer playability over prior consoles was huge. NES games felt responsive and controllable in a way that Atari, Coleco and Intellivision didn't.

Honorable mention to Sega... the SG-1000/Master System is also a fine system, but it didn't penetrate much here in the US.
