A year and a half after launching the AMD Ryzen Z1 line of processors designed specifically for handheld gaming PCs, AMD is back for round two. And this time the company is introducing three chips rather than two. As expected, the Ryzen Z2 Extreme is the new flagship. It's an 8-core, 16-thread processor with support for CPU speeds up to 5 GHz, 24MB of cache, and 16-core graphics.

Handheld gaming PCs with Intel Meteor Lake processors never really took off in a big way, because they were sold in the same price range as AMD Ryzen-powered models that offered better graphics and efficiency. But if you're looking to save a few bucks, Best Buy is running a sale on several handheld gaming PCs. If you've got $500 to spare, the Asus ROG Ally and Lenovo Legion Go S are about as cheap as they ever get.
