We're hosting multiple drop-in sessions across the city over the next few weeks, for residents to engage with our consultation on expanding the tram network.

The next one is today (15 September) at Granton Station from 4pm to 7pm.

There's one this afternoon (29 September) at North Edinburgh Arts and on Wednesday (1 October) at Waverley Court. Both run from 4pm to 7pm.

New from CEC — Trams: "Granton to the Edinburgh BioQuarter and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Beyond" consultation will start on Monday 25 August 2025 and run for 12 weeks, finishing on Monday 17 November 2025. It will be hosted on the Council’s Consultation Hub.

The consultation on the proposed north-south tram route from Granton to the Bioquarter will now start in mid-August 2025, slightly later than planned, to avoid the school holidays.

I don't think a yes/no is the way to think about this. Consider the opportunity cost of the tram. Would you rather have:

A) 1,500 miles of cycle infrastructure (at £2 million per mile)
B) A new tram line between Granton and the Bioquarter
C) £3 billion to spend on beer
