I don't like to make predictions when the Trump administration keeps sending flocks of black swans over our heads, but there are a few scenarios in play if SCOTUS invalidates the IEEPA tariffs - including one reaching all the way back to Smoot-Hawley. My latest for the Institute of Geoeconomics:

FWIW, tend to think geoeconomics' value comes less from describing an area of study than extent it captures a paradigmatic way of thinking animating policymakers at a particular time. In sense, it's meant to capture a "fad."
