Fun fact: yaml is based on xml which is based on gml which actually stood for goldfarb, mosher and lorrie. So yaml actually stands for yet another mosher and lorrie.

reminds me of when I started learning gml in gamemaker and realized it wasn't really any more difficult than drag and drop, and that drag and drop was in fact more annoying and tedious to do everything in.

Still wasn't an easy decision. I haven't really used GML/GMS in a decade. I just don't feel comfortable with the hivemind/gatekeep culture surrounding Godot. That's the antithesis of everything FOSS should be. And I'm not confident Godot forks are being offered in good faith either.

well I bet that makes it a bit easier lol, I'm brand new to pretty much every aspect of this stuff, though it's not like GML is like coding in java lmao, honestly the biggest learning curve for me so far has been art, majorly tiling, that is wayyy harder than it looks

there’s a LOT of bug fixing to go around, Mainly cause differing GML versions, also UTMT code slightly differs
if you had the project file, it’d be at LEAST a easier than making your own decomp. just know most of your time for the foreseeable future is bug fixing

Har en Wrangler typ 20 år gml, lappa 2 g foran på låra men der stoffet ikke slites på er det praktisk talt som nytt. Vært gjennom en del vask. Kjøpte 3 lividbukser for 3 år siden. Den rimeligste beg å bli litt slamsat, de to dyrere med fastere stoff ser bra ut ennå.

Yes, you can load the execute_shell_simple extension from a GML mod. However, the same security concerns apply. If someone had malicious intentions, they could still use this extension to execute arbitrary OS commands.
