Neither are diagnosed with SAD, but Ice & James both struggle with their mental health more during winter. James has a fair amount of trauma related to the holidays & winter that crops up every year. Ice hates cold & wet weather, so he spends the cooler months moody & lethargic.

Also, just a PSA, SAD sucks. It's not just "oh it's dark at 5, I'm sleepy" disorder. It's full on depression. Be kind to yourselves and your SAD friends.

I think Elias has the closest thing to SAD. He spends most of his time trying to keep warm in his hovel during the winter months, so not getting much sunshine or fresh air does affect him.
Entertaining himself by making clothes/jewelry, cooking, and playing with Sage (his cat) helps.

#FirstDraftFall just in time for bed, I FINALLY hit 20k words on my WIP, Inarora's House of Cards. Tonight, Kaedan had to explain what "Desperate people will do desperate things" means to poor, naïve Ina.
It's been great, I'm cooking on a fight for The Lake Hopper. After that I just need to write a conclusion and I'm done. Seriously, I'm very proud of this scene. It's simple, but the best ones usually are. Have this little excerpt, as a treat.

I've been really bad really bad about keeping things updated, but here's my total for the month. Im proud of myself for getting these done even with everything blowing up this month at every turn.

there's a historical epistolary element to this project that's supposed to magnify the contemporary protagonist's arc. remains to be seen whether it actually does that, but it's been fun to write in two very different voices.
