Grace Hopper was an American computer scientist and United States Navy rear admiral. She was a pioneer of computer programming who was the first to devise the theory of machine-independent programming languages.

Grace Hopper – computer science pioneer and United States Navy Rear Admiral – was born OTD in 1906.
As far as I’m aware, she is the only person who has both a supercomputer and a US Navy destroyer named after her. The FLOW-MATIC compiler she helped develop was a predecessor to COBOL. 🧪 👩🔬

[fun fact: COBOL was indirectly influenced by Grace Hopper, via FLOW-MATIC, and goes back to DoD]
This is a catastrophically terrible idea, and I say that as someone who researches AI and who once had a job programming in COBOL and MVS Assembler, working on legacy systems.
SCOOP: DOGE wants to rebuild SSA's codebase in months, risking benefits and system collapse, sources tell me.
The plan is to migrate all systems off COBOL quickly which would likely require the use of generative AI.

it includes a point-by-point teardown for SOL, ADA, MATIC,FIL, SAND, AXS, CHZ, FLOW, ICP, NEAR, VGX, DASH, and NEXO. honestly, this is way more than just coinbase. their deduction that coinbase has a problem is because it sold these tokens, which it views as securities. they're probably next.
