Happy to have this paper with Kira Delmore finally out. It shows that the adoption of a major life history trait (here seasonal migration) has profound effects on paleodemographics compared to resident relatives.

Seasonally migratory songbirds have different historic population size characteristics than resident relatives
Paleodemographic analyses in a hypothesis-testing framework show that the major life-history trait of seasonal migration has strong effects on long-term effective population sizes in a clade of songbi...

Some pictures from our resurrection experiment using Hypericum perforatum - the big measuring campaign is finally coming to an end and I'm excited to analyse the data and hopefully find some interesting patterns of intra-individiual variation in ancestors vs descendants 🌼 #evolutionaryecology
