FULL POST: Citizen scientists play a vital role in documenting water quality and pollution issues, keeping their communities and water monitoring networks informed about local water sources. This World Water Monitoring Day, we're highlighting the importance of ensuring communities have the training, tools, and resources needed to collect, interpret, and act on water quality data. In places with poor water infrastructure and ongoing contamination issues, citizen monitoring programs keep water data transparent and accessible for those who need it most. When communities can be involved in environmental protection, they’re empowered to take an active role in safeguarding their most precious resources.
