There is a huge painting at the National War Museum where so much is going on you can always discover something new. Today I found out that the man in the middle back pointing to the left & missing his left arm is General Archibald Alison. en.m.wikisource.org/wiki/Diction... 1/2 #DisabilityHistory

UK Disability History Month is 14 November to 20 December this year. The theme is 'disability, livelihood and employment'.

Do you know where I might submit a piece to highlight forgotten family members, please?

I teared up to learn @snarkbat.bsky.social wrote the Capitol Crawl into a Marvel Avengers Academy comic—vital #DisabilityHistory that I didn't learn about till I was in my 30s—and now Charles Xavier was canonically THERE. 😭

Working it into worldbuilding, and trusting your audience to look it up!

Why does tonight’s #DisabilityFilm showcase on @tcmtv.bsky.social in partnership w/@reelabilities.bsky.social matter? Because programming and perspective matter.

During #DisabilityPride — and every month.

I used to have daydreams (more like waking nightmares) about what my life would have been like with my rare fragile bone condition #FDMAS if I'd been born anytime before the 1980s. The specter of it haunts me, the more I learn about #DisabilityHistory. 5/
