The Shamal - named after the summer wind which blows across the plains of Mesopotamia - was the last model created in the cash-strapped era of DeTomaso ownership, before the marque passed into Fiat control. The brochure, a bilingual English/Spanish affair, was as much a compromise as the car.

Was net even bij de garage en daar staan altijd bijzondere dingen. Deze keer helemaal. Een DeTomaso Pantera GTS in rood! Mooier bestaat haast niet. Ontworpen door Tom Tjaarda van Ghia. 6500 stuks gebouwd tussen 1973 en 1989.

The DeTomaso Pantera was a mid-engine sports car produced by De Tomaso from 1971 to 1992.
It was known for its Italian design and American muscle, featuring a mid-mounted Ford V8 engine. The 1973 model earned it Road Test Magazine's Import Car of the Year award.

This is another one of my #DeTomaso #watches. The original bracelet is a blue mesh that matches the case. I replaced it with a rubber strap with red underneath blue fabric with white stitching. It's quite the upgrade. #watchesofmastodon

When Innocenti continued the Mini's evolution by launching its own chic Bertone-styled hatchback body in 1975, it was natural there would soon be a sporting version to replace the Cooper. Taking the name of DeTomaso, Innocenti's post-Leyland owner, it features in this late brochure from BL France.
