I think they did their best with the brief(s) they were given, but the way DA:I and Trespasser ended were so clearly begging for a direct sequel and I feel like that story, as beautiful as the ending of Veilguard was, was done a massive disservice by going with a new protagonist.

Anyway DA:I is living up to the hype it has gotten over the years, I really enjoy all of the different areas you get to explore & the variation in wildlife etc is really nice 😭

like I talked about her da:i verse and how she earns her spies — MAGES, just like her. thanks gaspard. thanks for helping her become first enchanter & claiming command over the ostwick circle. which - BY THE WAY - somewhat canonically, mages do make perfect spies.

Absolutely D. I was introduced to DA:O after DA:2 had already been out for a while and actually skipped 2 initially but went back to play it after DA:I.
I love the series and they really are part of my comfort media.

You have to harden Alistair. I married him off to Anora and then recruited Loghain. It also means in DA:I, I can send Loghain into the Fade.

I went in blind after DA:I and sort of bounced off because I was expecting much more of an RPG, but its an action-RPG with a capital "A", however its a solid action game and definitely worth recommending to fans of that genre

Yeah but they’re also posting shots of the DA:I character creator, which is free. So if you claim you lost your shots go recreate your character and make more. You even show off a free tool to do it. Draw. Photobash. Picrew. Hero Forge. Etc.

I have played da:i start to finish (including all three dlcs) four times so far and i am lowkey thinking of starting over again because there’s still race/class/romance combos i still haven’t tried 🥴

da:v is definitely better as a rogue
and some of the shit in the intro that seemed like just bad writing actually kinda make sense now that I know the end
going from over complicated gear management in da:i to super simple da:v feels like going from me1 to me2 and i don't know if I like it

The only romance options I thought were really well done in DA:I were the two they did last minute (Cullen and Solas)

I don’t mind the rigid orientations as much as I mind Bioware taking the feedback that straight boys found having to turn down Anders scary and making it so you can’t do a romance in DA:I without throwing yourself at characters who don’t seem remotely interested
