“…greening” is mostly chlorophyll without community—CO₂ fertilization, irrigation, fertilizer, and fast-growing species masking ecological loss. ”

The planet isn’t “greening.” It’s photosynthetically busier but biologically poorer—more leaves, fewer living systems.

The Illusion of Greening
From orbit the planet looks healthier than ever: more green on the maps, more leaf area in the models.

The physics states a different truth. Leaves are NOT green. Chlorophyll absorbs all wavelengths of visible light, except green. What we see is green light being reflected from the leaves because it's not useful for photosynthesis.

Did u know? The fab colours produced in leaves in autumn are pigments that are always there, but are revealed when the tree stops producing chlorophyll, which gives them their lovely green colour. Look at how the green fades to yellow in these awesome autumnal beauties..Going, going...gone...🌿🌱🇬🇧🌱🍂🌍🌳

I have yet to see any writer address the density of distribution for organisms such as barnacles. Again, the western seas typically show much denser chlorophyll (hence, plankton - food) distribution from EO sat observations.

It’s that “Hickory Gold” time of year! Mockernut Hickories (Carya tomentosa) are adding a splash of yellow to woodlands this time of year. As green chlorophyll pigments are extracted to conserve nutrients before the leaves drop, the yellow xanthophyll accessory pigments are revealed.
