oh nice. I've had several projects now that included ChartJS and find it works well. Going to probably use it again for my lead gen agency to show the data in a digestible way.

What are you displaying with it?

Wednesday afternoon I started a ticket to upgrade a ChartJS Lambda Layer and pacakages we use so we could upgrade the Node version those Lambdas were running.
Ran into TS compiler issues and realized the packages must have breaking changes.
Luckily this library is well documented!

In case I've not shared before; a very cool intro to using htmx to add interaction to an otherwise static web page. I'm a big fan of #htmx for progressive enhancement 💪🏻

I've been playing around with canvas to build my own chartjs plugin and something cool that I learned is within javascript you can grab style definitions from the loaded css so you don't have to hardcode colors.

And this gives me an idea

I can use css to control drawing in canvas, not just colors

I would personally say rechart over chartjs, because I'm using React, styling and customization are much easier

Thx. Already tried it but I didn't get it working nicely with chartjs. Your comment pushed me to try it again and finally I got it working.

I am currently refactoring the ui chart node of #nodered dashboard D2, to replace ChartJs by Echarts. Because that is a blocking issue for many other open chart-related tickets. But that is easier said than done...

Love ChartJS but it's too hard to integrate into my site's theme since it's Canvas-based. I think I'll just write my own basic ones by rendering SVG.

Nivo? Like it for data vis, uses D3 js under the hood, has lots of the D3 vis options, more than other libs I have looked at.

One major plus for me is it does dates on the x axis easily. Most other libs make it a total pain to the client dev eg recharts and chartjs

What’s a good charting library nowadays for React? Normally use ChartJS wrapper for react.

Looked at TanStack charts but they don’t seem to, or want to, to support pie charts.

Our timeseries charts get very busy once you're trying to cram in a month's worth of data (inevitable when dealing with high daily periodicity?). So I spent some time on this new chart in advance of @greencollective.io's May newsletter.

// TODO: fix captions in chartjs-chart-treemap
We introduced a new chart in this month's "Irish Grid Monthly": a tree map of generation. We hope you agree that it makes one of the key messages of our monthly reports - the proportion of each generation source - easier to quickly grasp.

Solar did well in May! ☀️
