The name of their nightclub, TEN29, may represent a horrible time in their lives, but the club itself brings them renewal in the form of the women who help them heal and grow. I liked each book. The relationships are great with plenty of sizzle, but I think the thing I most love are the friendships.

I read along with the audio book. The narrator, Angela Dawe, did a good job. Even though I'd prefer a counterpart for the male voices, she was easy to listen to.

BTW - prior reading (Dare to Love, NY Dares, and Knight Brothers series) isn't required, but I do recommend it if you can.

Daddy Issues Indeed!

*Quick note: I previously read this series, I wasn't always good about leaving reviews then, and decided it was time to revisit the Dares and rectify that. This is your only warning that you may be seeing a lot of reviews from me in the coming months for this large, sometimes complicated family tree, including siblings (half and whole), cousins, etc. 😘

Out of the gates, Ian Dare's daddy issues surface. Truthfully, I would be messed up, too, if I were in that situation. All things considered, he handles it relatively well. Of course, when the right person comes along, it's amazing how open to evaluating the perspectives of others we become. Yes, I apparently feel a kinship with Ian or at least familiarity with those feelings.

Enough about me. I absolutely love the reaction he has the first time he lays eyes on Riley Taylor, despite her attachment to someone he views as an enemy. I also love that he takes time to get to know her, he's upfront about his expectations in the bedroom, he admits his mistakes, and he is very protective.

Yeah, he may take that protectiveness a touch too far here or there, but I love that she has no problems calling him out for it. Sure, she needs to work up the courage sometimes and may lean into avoidance a time or two, but those are things I think many of us do, especially when we're feeling vulnerable.

It should be pretty obvious that I love this couple. It's so much more than just them, though. It's also their friends and family that make this worthy of (re)reading.

I read along with the audio book this go round. The narrator is Sophie Eastlake, and I think she did a really good job with everything. I would've preferred a second narrator to help out, but I do like her.

Scarlett's best friend, Leigh, not only provides insight, but she is funny and keeps it real. I truly need to join their friend group! I love their friendship and how they look out for and support each other. Healthy (female) friendships are a life saver, and I love the way theirs is portrayed.

Don't get me wrong, Tanner is no slouch in the friend department, but his friends, despite owning a nightclub with him, aren't much fun... 😆 ... in this book. They're plenty of fun in their own books (or at least, I assume for Landon).

I read along with the audio book. The narrator is Angela Dawe. I do like her, but a male counterpart would've been nice, too.

Controlling Caretaker

Isabelle (Kitten, Izzy, Iz) Masters and Gabriel (Gabe) Dare may have chemistry, but they're initially otherwise taken. Even if it goes against his desires, I appreciate that he doesn't pursue Isabelle. I admire his confidence that her boyfriend, Lance Daltry, will, and does, mess things up.

Gabe is a sneaky devil, and while I disagree with him completely stepping out of her life for a bit, I do love that Iz was able to find herself again and figure some things out on her own. I loved their story and didn't want it to end.

As for their chemistry, I love it when it just explodes! 🥵🔥🎉

One of the things I love most about any of the Dare books is that many of the family members make appearances and give the stories more depth, lightness, and humor, because no one can tease you quite the same way family can. This is predominantly about the NY Dares, but the Miami family does have a small cameo. 🩷

Thinking back to the first time I read this, I remember my excitement about Eden. We're offered a small peek, but it isn't nearly enough. I know there's more to come, which makes me so happy!

I read along with the audio book. The narrator, Sophie Eastlake, continues to deliver an easy to listen to experience with the emotions of the characters on display.

Nearly from the start, I felt for Vivienne (Vivi, Vivi Z) Zane (Clarke). She was in a no-win situation. I admire her attempts to get through everything quietly, even if she felt she had to put herself last.

The combustible energy she shared with Landon Bennett threw everything out the window. I didn't like how he reacted to her secret. At the same time, I recognize how realistic the response is, not just from him but also his friends and family.

I liked the pacing of the book, which had small time jumps to keep the story moving along. This made it relatively fast and easy read that I enjoyed.

I listened to the audio book as part of 'The Sexy series.' The narrator, Angela Dawe, did a good job. Even though I'd prefer a counterpart for the male voices, she was easy to listen to.

I love their history. There was attraction and a connection borne from two teens needing someone, anyone, to really see them. Sebastian Knight and Ashley Easton were each dealt a craptastic hand when it came to parental figures, but for a short period of time, they had each other. Until they didn't.

I like how Ashley stayed connected to the Knight family. I adore how sweet, innocent, and unassuming it was. As sad as the reason for the reunion was, the way things happened kept me wanting to continue on, finishing it in one sitting.

Ethan Knight has some baggage, but I love how he's immediately drawn to Sienna Dare, despite her being off limits. He has had his alphahole role since his late wife's death down pat. I love watching his walls break down and crumble. The two are very opposite with great chemistry, and she's the right person to get him back to living.

While I don't love that anyone goes through the pain that Ethan has experienced with his dad or his late wife, I do love that we got to see him shed the last vestiges of the pain from Mandy and also start healing from his dad's abandonment.

As is common when a Dare is involved, there are a lot of cameos from the Dare to Love, Sexy, and this series. Prior reading isn't required, but I'd recommend it if you're inclined.

Another common thread, especially when the Florida Dares are highlighted, is Robert Dare brings drama to the mix. It's sad how lacking as a father, spouse, and all-around human being he is. When his latest situation hits the fan, I love and hate how the siblings circle the wagons. I do like how Sienna stands up for herself with them and her father. Her giving her siblings a dressing down made me like her a little more, even if she forgives (too) quickly in most situations.

This has been my favorite book in the series, in part due to the crossover with the Dares. Of course, the biggest part is the hot chemistry between Sienna and Ethan that bursts through the pages. I love their ups and downs and how this starts as her being unable to figure out what she wants to do with her future.

Next, I will catch up with Jason Dare and his buddies, and Sierra Knight and her story. I look forward to more of this universe. 🥰❤️‍🔥

Tyler Dare is pretty good at setting the wrong impressions when it comes to Ella Shaw. I agree with him that he really messed up with her when she was 18. Not only did she completely misinterpret the situation post-coital, but it set the stage for further issues. Oh, how I feel for her.

Despite the poor impression that this starts with, I think Tyler redeems himself in a couple of ways. I really like how he shows up and shows out for Ella and his family. Overall, another wonderful addition to the Dare family saga.

I love how this starts with big brothers, Gabe and Decklan, calling out their friend, Max Savage, about his interest in Lucy Dare. It's awesome to see the exchange and get the ball rolling. 😂

I love how dirty these two get, and the possessiveness is entertaining, especially when Max turns the tables on Lucy and makes her think about some things.

There's plenty of trauma and hurt that they work over, around, and through. I like how everything gets tackled over the course of the book.

Uses for Silk Scarves & Ties

I liked revisiting Dylan Rhodes and Olivia Dare. Out of the gates, Dylan makes his move. Of course, it was years in the making, but still. It was a great way to kick off the book.

I forgot how sad some of it is, but as it's repeated multiple times, it became borderline depressing (and may be triggering for some - loss of pregnancy). I also forgot about the twist that further highlights the fragile nature of life.

OK, now to shift gears, because for every sad moment, there are several funny, steamy, and/or tender encounters. I'm not going to touch the parenting failures, but the sibling relationships are great on both sides of the equation. The playful ribbing, insight, and general support are wonderful.

Digging into both characters and getting to know them better was a little heartbreaking, sure, but more than that, it was hot and fun. For example, their time in the cabana was sweet and so naughty that I couldn't help but love it. 🔥 Silk ties and scarves should regularly be used like that. 😘
