Shame on those who think it’s ok to be racist to NHS staff and careworkers who are not born in the UK. it is not! Truly decent people, and the patients under their care, would take umbrage, as I do!

Yet again we're saved by someone with non-UK heritage.
See also: the NHS, careworkers, etc., etc.
Oh, and Saint George.
We're an island - everyone moved here at some point and our rich diversity is a marvellous strength.
Yaxley-Lennon, Farage and the rest of the RW hate-mongers can fuck off.

3/ Lo and behold, suddenly disappeared was any notion that careworkers might have the temerity to have a sense of collective agency and determination to make it all better, and I was left with the a piece that focused on how we're all lovely really and isn't it sad, but heh ho, that's life.

Today is International Day of Care & Support 🧑‍⚕️❤️‍🩹. Shocking stats: 69% get no help after reporting abuse, 30% face violence monthly, 2/3 are women.

Zero tolerance! Care workers deserve respect & safety—GMB is fighting for real change. Stand with care staff! 🧡

The govt tries to get sick people to work by putting DWP staff in GP surgeries — but not by hiring more GPs. It keeps saying "working people" but doesn't think people should be well enough to work.
Most adults with #LongCovid are keyworkers: nurses, doctors, teachers, careworkers — losing jobs. 5/5

It is an abject failure of duty of care NOW, from *this* government, those in charge of agencies NOW towards keyworkers: #teachers, #NHS workers, #careworkers, towards patients in hospitals, children in schools, and towards their families to protect them, in state institutions, from harm. 6/6

3. This leap was caused by a number of factors: refugees from Ukraine and Hong Kong, universities recruiting more international students to make up for spending cuts, efforts by the Government to plug a huge shortfall in careworkers, and people migrating who were unable to during Covid.

Don’t see what’s ”incoherent” about the government’s line of:

“These are our neighbours, our friends, our spouses, our careworkers, the people who keep Britain ticking [dark look, clenching fists, veins bulging] and we’ll make the fuckers pay dearly for that privilege.”
