Diplomatic breakdowns are already showing. “Governor Trudeau”. Calls ending in a “somewhat” friendly (aka not friendly at all) manner. “Trudeau is trying to stay in power” claims - uh. No. He’s resigned. Gotta go through the process. I don’t want to be right.

(A CanadaThreads Thread) Last night, in the presidents address to congress, he declared he was imposing “reciprocal tariffs” on the countries (who were actually countering) tariffing the USA. why, you ask? “Reciprocal” means “given, felt, or done in return”, meaning he’s saying that the countries HE initiated tariffs on were the instigators. He is actively painting Canada as an aggressor and an enemy of the US govt. Why is this so bad, aside from the obvious? -> It’s a warning because he is playing the groundwork for military action by falsely framing Canada as an aggressor, just like every other far right leader who manufactures a crisis to justify war. He is doing the same. This isn’t new. The writing is on the wall, economic warfare, diplomatic breakdowns, foreign political interference (in Canada), mass disinformation campaigns, and televised state-controlled propaganda campaigns painting a former ally as an existential threat. By calling his tariffs reciprocal, he’s gaslighting the general cutting the USA into thinking Canada struck first, when in reality, he unilaterally initiated this trade war and we know where economic warfare often leads. It’s not just about trad. He’s using other excuses - fentanyl, crime, nato - to justify hostilities. All distractions from the fact that he already agreed to these policies and is now pretending otherwise. So what are the major signs that I’ve noticed? -> Well, we’re already seeing economic warfare. The us has imposed tariffs under the lie of “reciprocity” painting Canada as an aggressor. This is step one - destabilization. Next is diplomatic breakdowns, Trump has already hinted that nato is “unfair”, that Canada doesn’t pay our share, and has publicly suggested withdrawing. If he cuts ties completely, that removes a major deterrent against military action. We’re also seeing manufactured crises. Another red flag: military posturing: reports the CAF (Canada armed forces) have allegedly increased their recruiting to Americans, possibly in response to rising tensions. Why? Because the risk is real. Another red flag: PM Trudeaus recent visit to the King - Canada’s head of state - was in a private residence, something that hasn’t happened in years. We also know specifically it was to discuss the “51st state” threats. -> additionally, Canada was also the only non-EU country invited to an EU conference. that's not random. the EU is seeing the writing on the wall & may be preparing for Canada to need support. meanwhile, i believe the POTUS is actively moving to withdraw from NATO. this isn't just economic tensions-it's a pattern. diplomatic isolation, economic pressure, propaganda blaming an ally for internal problems... these are the steps countries take before war. the POTUS is laying the groundwork for war with (& inevitably WWIII). economic warfare, diplomatic isolation, & manufactured crises always come before invasion. if trump continues to escalate hostilities, if he frames Canada as an enemy-invasion is next. the warning signs are here. we (Canada) must act now. strengthen military alliances. secure independent comms. prepare for the worst. because when the tanks roll in, it'll be too late.
