Congratulations to UC-AFT member and former Director of the UCLA Labor Center, Kent Wong, the awardee of the prestigious Ben Rust Award at our Convention this year. For more than three decades, Kent has been a leading voice in Labor Studies and Ethnic Studies.

Soon after a UC Santa Cruz student sued the school for its treatment of pro-Palestine protesters, police unlawfully searched and seized their phone.

@aclu-norcal.bsky.social is asking a court to throw out the warrant and require the police to return her phone and destroy any data obtained.
