FM Towns Marty 2 repair/restoration complete!
This Marty would not power on, found several bad caps on PSU. C22 on MB was also leaking, replaced all capacitors on all 3 boards for good measure (PSU/MB/CDROM)
Also cleaned and socketed new battery. Reads discs great!

As an actual console, it performed exactly like an Amiga with a cdrom, minus the keyboard and mouse. Which is to say you might as well have bought an A600 and a CD drive, honestly

könnte sowas out-of-the-Box - schliesslich verdient Microsoft ja Geld damit. Ich hatte mich geirrt. Vermutlich ist BD+Bluray noch töter als CDRom DVD-Laufwerke in Laptops und Fernseher sind heute schon Streaminggeräte und werden sich wohl keinen Blurayplayer mehr gönnen.

I got an adorable external SCSI enclosure in the mail today so I don’t have a tower of loose SCSI drives anymore. Now it’s starting to look like a Serious Business UNIX System.

Hard not to feel old when things I owned are in literal museum displays. I played the original on a Mac classic after school while my Mum was in staff meetings. I honestly believe that it is at least partially the reason I ended up where I am today - but that's a long story.
