#BusPirate
Just made a cable for what I hope will be another useful debugging tool, the BusPirate.

The Glasgow can do JTAG pin enumeration and I2C / SPI / UART . But I don't know what the new BusPirate can do so hard for me to compare. I had an old Bus Pirate but I replaced it and my JTAGulator with the Glasgow.

My #BusPirate #BlankPlank prototype PCB arrived today! Ian really knows how to deliver more than one expects! I wish I had more time to contribute to the project. At least I came up with the name. 😊

The device has a very non-standard debug port which I struggled to find a UART TX pin on (turned out to be what I thought was just a 3.3v pin) When I did find some readable output with the Buspirate, all I could get from the device was "Booting" when it started up, no other output. This is good.

I ended up flashing Bruce to the T embed to mess with the sub1ghz module, will flash BusPirate to the M5 stick 2. Here's the t embed catching an 900mhz ELRS transmission

@whitequark do you have a blog post or anything that explains what you want to do with Glasgow? It looks pretty awesome as a logic analyzer, I wasn't sure if you were planning bidirectional ability (like a turbo buspirate) as well (I should actually look at your schematics :D)

Using both the #BusPirate and a #ChipShouter against an IoT type device? Shenanigans will surely ensue! 🤣🤓

Thanks @buspirate.bsky.social for such an excellent and flexible tool!

- Faster. No more serial to parallel lag. Less traffic on the SPI bus shared with the NAND flash and LCD. The SPI traces are extremely short and tight
- More space. The Bus Pirate PCB is extremely crowded, we just removed two “huge” TSSOP chips.

Smart watch lacking actual freaking flames? Shenzhen innovates with integrated health tracker, wireless payment, bluetooth speaker, AI voice assistant … and Zippo-compatible lighter case. This is such a strange integration, some may say unnecessary.

Fraxinas flashed a vac:

My cousin's vacuum cleaner refused to start after replacing the battery...the original firmware actively prevents the battery from being replaced. Luckily, eager hackers have already written an alternative firmware! For programming, I used PCBites and a Buspirate 5...
