At Boskone I had an interesting conversation with @matociquala.bsky.social who said Hard SF still has a rep of being what “white guys who love jargon” write.

It‘s so utterly different to what hard SF is to me. Humanity’s desire to study our universe is currently what gives me hope for our species.

Still dealing with that stupid sprained shoulder, but otherwise I can’t complain! Had a good Boskone, getting some writing done. Enjoying the antics at the bird feeder.

This past weekend, Spooky Science Lab co-host Nicholas Kaufmann spoke on the "Podcasting as a Writer" panel at Boskone 63 in Boston, along with @courtney-floyd.com of the Unfortunately podcast and @erinunderwood.bsky.social of Erin Underwood Presents on YouTube!

OK internet, someone at #Boskone this past weekend was trying to find an author/title for a story they remembered (but not well). I took some notes because I really want to read this:

Back home from Boskone 2026 and it was a wonderful time of panels, readings, and spending time with so many incredibly talented writers. Hugely grateful for everyone who made this year's con such a fun and refreshing weekend.

I love Boskone. There are usually at least three panels I wish I could attend for each time slot and I miss when they went digital for covid and I was able to watch all the panels I wanted to after they ran. The accommodation then was way better for insomniac ADHDer meeee. 🤣💪

Always nice seeing my books on the shelf at conventions. This pic here is from Boskone. Kudos to Larry Smith Booksellers for always having convention guests' books for sale. They really make an effort at every convention they're at, and so I try to buy at least one book from them every time.

Rhe hotel restaurants at Boskone used to run out of ice cream.

Who eats a lot of ice cream in Boston in February? Apparently sf fans.

Thank you @melindas.bsky.social and @michaelventrella.bsky.social for bringing your legal expertise to the Boskone panel on censorship! What a relief to have experts at the table.

#boskone was awesome and productive and I am so ready to go home.

Looking forward to the next con, and to being at Boskon64 next year!

I like the concept of the doppelganger being the setting or environment in stories. I really enjoyed a panel at Boskone with @theodoragoss.bsky.social, @justinkey.bsky.social, and @matociquala.bsky.social on doppelgangers and got to have a good think.
