However, this behavior is actually a survival strategy. Lions are apex predators, meaning they need bursts of intense energy for hunting, so they conserve energy when not in action. Interestingly, lionesses do most of the hunting, while male lions primarily protect the pride and their territory from rival males. So while they may seem lazy, male lions play a crucial role in maintaining dominance and security. If you're looking for truly "lazy" animals, sloths, which sleep up to 20 hours a day, or koalas, which sleep up to 22 hours, take the crown!
