#BOGANCLOCH
BOGANCLOCH: Uses little snatches of experiences scattered over the year to continually reframe its hero's benign but defiant self-exile, with Rivers's various stylistic interventions as a means of evoking what little context is needed; slight but involving.

Incredibly, the Icelandic documentary #Bogancloch is even slower than the North Dakota Dual Aurora Camera (NoDDAC) Live Stream.

I keep forgetting to tell everyone to catch Bogancloch if you can. Rivers films may well be passive-aggressively arthouse but this one is also an immersive little treat if you take the time to fall into its rhythms www.eyeforfilm.co.uk/review/bogan...

“When Jake Williams sits down in a forest, it’s like the clearing is his living room. He’s soon dozing. Some viewers might be too, but that’s alright. There’s no rush.”

A man in front chuckled when he saw that this was rated U for “very mild bad language, nudity, scene of animal butchery.” Our rating system is obviously less profit-driven or broken than it is in some places, but we are still a country where Bogancloch is apparently tamer than Lulu is a Rhinoceros.

Bogancloch - Ben Rivers’ checkup on an old friend takes on both a deeper contemplation of time and a greater surrealist quality than Two Years at Sea; even veering towards a musical. Jake was never alone, and even as change catches up to every last soul, he will never be the last to know true peace.
