Well, the first kiss that mattered, anyway: in which the Emperor teaches Moss how to psionically infuse feelings and memories into touches, since, well, they don't exactly have lips anymore. 🦑💕🦑

You reach up and pull him into a hug. It's awkward, trying to hold him close to your chest when he's so much bigger than you, but he returns the hug and squeezes reassurance into you and... Affection swells from your heart to his and back again, creating a feedback loop of pure warmth, a blissful harmony of understanding, of perfectly reciprocated - acceptance, and you let out a relieved sigh. It's okay. You're okay. You're not too much. His tendrils trail up your arms and shoulders, their touches light and feathery, like - like little kisses. It's so nice. You take the nearest tentacle and cradle it with one of your own, and the friction of twining them together is pleasant, but it's not the same. You long ago told the Emperor that the only thing you'd miss after transforming would be being able to kiss him, and it's not fair that - Another tendril presses against your cheek, leaving the very distinct impression of a kiss. Oh, he's listening to you-! You snap your eyes open and you stare him down. <How are you doing that!?> His chest rumbles against yours. He's laughing, the - the smug show-off! <Don't laugh!> You mentally pout. <Teach me!!> <So needy... You sit back up, too, and focus on your hands. Kisses... Did you ever have a good kiss in your old life? You never had much interest in the physical aspect of relationships until... well, this one. You can think of some wonderful hugs you've had, but that's not what you wa… He lets you sense your touches through him to better understand what you're doing and it's - jarring, feeling the impression of your hand as if it's on your own shoulder, and worse yet, it's sloppy. You try to think of the warm feelings of your dinner with Gale, of the delicious soups and wines you shared, but your hand echoes like a heating pad, not an embrace. You try to think of - the way Karlach would always swing her arm around your shoulders, blazing and reassuring after every battle, but your hand summons the blazing part, not the reassuring part. You grumble, and useless purple sparks fly from your claws. Does your brain think you're trying to cast a fireball? Oof, that would be embarrassing. But why isn't it working? Why are you like this!? <I'm a failure,> you groan - <Oh, don't be dramatic. It's nothing so disastrous,> the Emperor says, waving away your cascade of thoughts. <You seem to understand the technique well enough. I believe you are simply too distracted by the temperature. Try to focus less on the physical aspects of what you're conjuring. Project the emotional. What do you want me to feel?> <Happy.> The word tumbles out of you. It should've been obvious - <And what makes you happy?> Oh, so many things. Cuddling with Us and the cats. Taking care of the plants around the tavern. Hearing Alfira practice her lute in the evenings. You reach out again, thinking actual happy thoughts this time. Fresh sprouting buds, comfortable bubble baths, the wind at your back, the way you felt when you finally told him that you love him, the joy, the joy, the joy -- Your hand glows, and you press it over his heart. And he - makes a sound, not from his mind or his mouth, but from his chest. Soft and chirpy, but it's not a laugh. You've heard it once before, you think. But you weren't entirely there back then, were you? Lia rolls her eyes melodramatically. “Ugh, gods, Rolan, you’re such a priss sometimes. I’m just daring you to give one person a little peck on the lips, not take them home and ravish them. I was even going to be helpful and point you in the direction of someone who I think would be very willing to kiss you, but since you’re being such a big baby about it you might as well just forfeit and buy me another round. Barkeep! ” Rolan covers her mouth with his hand to keep her from ordering anything else. “What do you mean, you think there’s someone who’d be willing to—you weren’t going to send me over to a prostitute, were you?” Lia huffs in outrage and starts to argue, her voice muffled by his hand. “MMphh MMMPH mphf!” Rolan uncovers her mouth. “They’re not a prostitute, you moron, there’s a cleric over there that’s been eyeing you ALL NIGHT, and I just thought I’d help move things along for you by daring you to kiss them because otherwise you’re going to be rotting alone until you’re a sad, shriveled old man, but if you want to be a miserable wrinkly hermit for the rest of your life then be my gues–MFPPH!!!” He silences her again, suddenly terror-stricken that whoever she’s talking about (in addition to everyone else in the tavern) has heard her. Trying to maintain as much of his dignity and calm as possible, Rolan casually leans back on his stool, glancing sideways in the direction Lia had been gesticulating towards, and— Zurgan, they’re looking right at him. He snaps his eyes forward, hoping they didn’t spot him sneaking a glance. From the brief glimpse of them Rolan was able to catch, they at least do seem to be an actual cleric and not a prostitute (he wouldn’t have put it past Lia to lie about that as a prank). They also are…fairly attractive? In the split second before he looked away, he was able to make out a head of reddish-brown ringlets, green eyes, and a mouth quirked up in an inviting smile. An invitation…to me? A fluttery feeling floats up his tail and sp… “Would you please hush,” Rolan snaps irritably. Half of him wonders exactly how his sister is so knowledgeable about things like come hither eyes when he’s the one who’s supposed to be older and more worldly. The other half of him has begun to think that the prospect of kissing the pretty cleric isn’t entirely appalling. It’s irksome to admit, but Lia’s right—he’s never kissed anyone, or for that matter, had so much as a crush. The years he’s given to the single-minded pursuit of his dream haven’t left him much time for romantic entanglements (or even just friendships). Although there have been a few times when a girl with fetching dimples or a boy with a charming laugh turned his head, he’s never given much thought to being with anyone, even just for a moment of pleasure. If the person across the room is really interested in him—and Rolan thinks they might be—what’s the harm in a little kiss? Before his brain has a chance to reconsider this, Rolan knocks back a large gulp of wine for courage and forces his feet to carry him to where the cleric is sitting (Lia mock-whispers “you’ve got this Rolan!” as he stands up). Up close, Rolan can see they’re not just fairly attractive , but legitimately stunning. Their russet curls accentuate the soft brown of their skin and frame a sharp, clever face; their eyes are the greenest he’s ever seen, a deep color that reminds him of uncut emeralds. They grin up at Rolan as he draws nearer and he thinks he might dissolve into the floor. This was a horrible idea I’m going to murder Lia I cannot do this. “Want to sit down?” the cleric offers, affably scooting over on their bench to make room for him. Rolan stiffly obliges, willing every muscle in his body to be as still as possible and not betray the fact that his heart seems to have relocated itself to somewhere in his throat. “I’m Kells, cleric of Tymora, at your service.” He nervously shakes Kells’ proffered hand. “I’m…Rolan. Wizard.” Oh how eloquent, Rolan, you’ve certainly sh… “Well Rolan, Wizard, do you live here?” For a split second of inane stupidity, Rolan thinks they’re asking if he lives in the tavern , but fortunately catches himself in time. “Yes. I do. I mean. I’m from Elturel, yes.” What else should he say? “And…you?” “Nope! I’m from Baldur’s Gate. I’m on a pilgrimage to see the Companion and your shrine to Tymora.” Rolan cycles through what he knows about Tymora for a possible topic of conversation. “You must be very…lucky.” He instantly cringes at his banality. I probably sound like a halfwit. Kells laughs, but it’s not a mocking or disbelieving snicker; it sounds like the bright tinkle of bells on a crisp winter’s morning, and Rolan’s stomach does a backflip. “You could say that! Though I think my luck’s gotten even better since someone handsome like you decided to come sit with me. I’ve been trying to get your attention for hours.” There is far too much shocking information in this sentence for Rolan to process. Handsome? Who, him ? They’ve been trying to get his attention? Has Lia put Kells up to this? He scowls over at his sister, who just flashes him two thumbs up in response. “I…see.” “Also, I couldn’t help but overhear what you and your sister were talking about.” Rolan’s heart sinks. This will be when Kells tells him to shove off—or worse, says something like ‘I’m flattered but not interested.’ “I don't mind helping you win your dare." That’s…not the answer he was expecting. "You really don't need to. Lia's just drunk, I wouldn't take her to heart." "No no, I think she's sweet! You can tell how much she cares about you, to try and set you up with me. And it's not like I won't benefit from this little…exchange." Kells saucily raises an eyebrow and smirks. "I'm not going to pay you to kiss me if that's what you're asking!" The humiliating indignity of this entire exchange is straining Rolan's tolerance. Kells bursts into laughter. "What?! Oh gods , no, that's not what I meant at all! I just meant that it’d be a sort of…mutually agreeable thing for both of us: you’d beat your sister’s dare and get to have your first kiss, and I’d get to kiss the prettiest tiefling here.” Rolan’s face burns up so much he could swear he’s on fire. “I-– It’s not my first kiss!” Kells raises an eyebrow. “I mean—I’ve kissed many people before, just not strangers in taverns, I’m not that kind of person!” He’s sure they’re going to call him out on his obvious lie, but instead Kels just smiles kindly at him and laces their fingers with his. Their hand is warm and soft and fits perfectly locked with his own. “Well, then that makes this easier, doesn’t it? Since I’m just a stranger in a tavern there’s no pressure to make it perfect. If it’s bad kiss it doesn’t matter, because after tonight we’ll never see each other again. And if it’s a good kiss, well,” they lower their voice in a way that makes Rolan shiver, “it’ll be a good memory for both of us.” Try as he might, Rolan can’t find any flaw in this logic. He’s weary of trying to persuade himself that he doesn’t want this, that he’s not curious to find out what Kells’ lips would feel like pressed against his. There’s no expectation on him to make this storybook-perfect; the only thing he has to do is lean in and close the space between them. So he does. Unfortunately Rolan’s eagerness has completely ruined his depth perception. His horns smack straight into Kells’ forehead before their lips can even get close enough to touch; they flinches in pain. Rolan immediately draws back, apologies spilling out of his mouth like water. “Zurgan, I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to, are you hurt? I’m sorry, let’s just forget about this and—”

Kestrel's back arches. Gods, why hasn't the done this before? Of course the answer is clear. She's been too focused on studies to bother with distractions. But as her robe falls open, she sighs. Her stomach clenches and flutters. Alira can't know Kestrel has yet to take a partner in bed. That she would be the first. Alira's fingertips skate down Kestrel's bare chest, and the room suddenly feels hotter. Should Kestrel tell her? But then Alira might stop, and that's the last thing Kestrel wants. The woman straddles her on the sofa now, running a thumb across Kestrel's lower lip. Giving in to impulse, she bites the finger lightly, and the elf smiles.

"Ah, my dear heart. You do. Moreover, you deserve it. And we will spoil our friends too when they return but maybe not quite so... intimately," he noted with a chuckle. She let him go enough that she could stand on tip toe as his hands found her elbows. He helped lift her just enough that she could kiss his cheek. His smile softened as he looked down at her, and, with the shyness of a boy faced with his first love, he pressed a light kiss to her lips. It was brief, a query as much as a statement. When he found himself answered with a smile his heart surged and he bent to kiss her again, far more thoroughly before he swept her into his arms. "Come my life, let's eat before this gets cold."

“Do you remember?What happened before passed out? what you said to me?” Kelari tensed up and his lips tightened in a way Rhys recognised immediately. He really wondered how he had been so blind all these years, but it didn’t matter now. Here and now was the only thing that mattered. Kelari looked down to his hands as he nonchalantly answered “I doubt anything I said had a lot of weight behind it. I mean, I had just gotten hit with a bunch of heavy rocks, my head was probably really messed up.” “Ri.” Kelari head snapped up at the serious tone of Rhys’ voice. “Did you hear what I answered?” “You answered?” the tiefling asked exasperated. the sweet fool Rhys thought. they both were. “Of course I did.” He breathed in deeply to prepare to repeat himself from a few hours ago, repeat the phrase he had last said as a little kid, to the same black and white tiefling. looking back at him with the same bright eyed hopeful expression. “I love you Kelari. I’m in love with you. I have been for years, since I had the faintest idea of what love could be. It’s been you.” “Are you serious?” Rhys lifted one shaky hand to cup Kelari’s face. He smoothed over the tiefling’s cheek with his thumb in almost absentminded reverie. Both of them held their breath, the whole city seemed to stand still for them, for this moment. Rhys finally sought out the eye contact he’d been avoiding since he stepped in the room, uncaring now if the tears spilled over onto his cheeks. He needed Kelari to see, to feel, the clear message of his heart. He didn’t have a tadpole of his own to communicate his thoughts so clearly and words couldn’t possibly describe the depth of his devotion. So, he opened his heart and let the man look straight into his soul and as he stared into the two mismatched orbs he saw the same devotion returned to him in kind. There was no change. nothing new. It had always been there, he had shut himself off from seeing it. But now he could never unsee it. He just hoped Kelari saw it too. “Ri? Can I..” Like many times before in his life, Kelari still managed to surprise him. “Can I kiss you?” Tears of joy filled Rhys eyes, the earnestness, the joy in the tiefling’s eyes, the rushed eagerness in his voice and the sheer happiness on his face, happiness because of him, because he loved him, overwhelmed the drow with emotion. Choked up, with shaking voice and hands he responded, straight from his heart. “There is nothing I’ve ever wanted more in my life.” With his hand still on Kelari’s cheek he delicately pulled him close, the tiefling pushed forward at the same time. The moment their lips connected, Rhys knew his life would be changed forever. Kelari’s lips were soft, slightly dry from sleep. He was slightly cold, the way his draconic ancestry always made him feel but was warming up quickly with the friction of their lips. Rhys had intended for this to be chaste and tender, and it was for a moment, but the way Kelari fully leaned into the kiss, opened his lips and sighed with enjoyment, Rhys couldn’t help passionately holding the tiefling tighter, slipping his tongue past Kelari’s lips, tasting him fully. The kiss was something Rhys had only ever read about in books, sparks electrifying every touch, his body alight with heat and excitement, yet making him feel safe and wrapped into the comfort of their shared intimacy. Kissing had never felt like this before.

The moment our lips truly meet, my heart nearly stops. I have to consciously keep my touch on his cheek gentle, to not move in a way that would scare him or undo the many small steps he's made on his healing journey so far. Rolim shifts closer, his lips brushing mine in tentative, slow nibbles. He's taking his time, too, checking in with himself before every slow movement he makes. It's cautious, as everything he does is. The moment his tongue pushes against my bottom lip, I nearly lose myself. I bite back a groan as my lips part, inviting him in. He doesn't take the invitation—not at first, but after a few more careful strokes of his tongue, he tilts his head and deepens the kiss. I can feel the tension in his shoulders reaching its peak. He's anxious, waiting for the moment when a memory destroys this soft moment between us. But when our tongues finally touch between our lips, Rolim shudders, and a quiet sigh escapes from his nose.

He has the orb mark on his chest and face and he looks adoringly at Tav with half-hooded eyes, a slight smile/smirk in his open mouthed kiss. A few movement markers/lines, some huffed out clouds and hearts by Gale's bottom, Tav's back and between their heads are added for the dynamic and emotionality of the scene. Snippet from my fanfiction WIP “You are enough – The ways of mortal love” I began to experimentally move and grind against him, exploring the new sensations that were so much better than anything I had ever achieved with my own fingers and pillows. "Is this okay?" I whispered, breathlessly and nervously excited, holding on to his shoulders. He groaned, closing his eyes for a moment before opening them again, nodding while the ever-burning heat in his eyes had become a forest fire that I wanted to dive headfirst in. He nodded at me to go on, smiling ever so softly and warmly and only the tension in his whole body betrayed his ever so patient, ever so selfless encouragement as he cradled my face in his hands, tracing the lines of my jaw and lips with his thumb and the forest fire continued to rage in his eyes... I sighed into him as I found my rhythm against his body as mine was thrumming with electricity that was soft like velvet and spread through my whole body from the deepest core out to the even softer, invisible hairs on my skin that felt as if it was alight with the same colours, the same magic that Gale had conjured to bring the sky back. It was almost a meditation, to finally have him so close, so warm all around me, to let my body move with his hand resting on my hips. He let it follow my body's movements, just connecting, not guiding, not taking over and never once leaving me out of sight, letting me become a being of love and sensuality, nothing else mattered, nothing else existed..
