Steam also has mods released as standalone games and I wonder if it not happening recently is some change in Valve or just mod devs not reaching out to them. Enderal and Archolos are there, not to mention Valve's own old releases. I know many, many people found Enderal from the Steam release.

I finished Archolos, essentially a fan total conversion of Gothic 2. Goodness, what a game! It's the best Gothic game, hands-down. Makes good on all those systems and concepts that Gothic introduced by never fully used.

9- juego indie que te encante, Archolos, es un total conversion mod para el gothic 2, osea es un juego completo hecho en base a otro con un millón de cosas nuevas, el gothic 2 es mi juego favorito ever y este se queda muy muy cerca, encima está hecho por fans y es gratis, una puta maravilla

Babysitting Jorn while he's running around being a complete and utter idiot is probably the least desirable thing about the early stages of Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos. Pretty compelling game apart from that, however.

3 years after I played "The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos" mod, I'm shocked to see I remember it so well that there's no point in me replaying it - for now. If you enjoyed the Gothic series, give it a shot. It's great for cold, winter days.
