On Samhain I sow my sweetpea seeds, in deep root-trainers. Once they've germinated I'll move them to the allotment greenhouse, where they'll grow over winter and be ready for planting out in March.

A selection of vegetables from the allotment, beetroot in two colours, kohlrabi and carrots were freshly-harvested; potatoes, red onions and shallots were taken from the shed, while the self-seeded calendula in front of the shed was almost glowing in the fading light.

We’ve thinning out our root vegetable bed comprising leeks, parsnips, neeps (swedes) and beetroot. Pleased to see a few vegetables that could make a decent meal. However, something been eating these neep leaves but the main vegetables look in tact.

Well so endeth the chilli season.
Pusa Jwala now cropped, been eating them for a few months.
Red will be dried to make powder and flakes.
Greens will be eaten in curry etc.

Thought I would try this and see if it creates a more balanced light effect. Little gems and spinach have been sown.
