ENGLISH CHRISTMAS TRADITIONS In Wickworth they get drunk every December and set fire to a Christmas tree by the claw machine in the old amusement arcade. In Egging Wells they feast on effigies and brandy to summon back the sun. In Walden they hide all the children's presents in the frozen meadows for them to search for on Christmas morning.
