Immortality, Respect, Freedom, Redemption & Enlightenment!
- Formed from Tian/天 & Earth on an Eastern Continent, a Monkey is born from Stone. Becoming King of a Monkey Tribe in a Mountain, he discovered Death & desired Immortality to avoid Yanluo/閻羅's Realm, Diyu/地獄! - Adventuring to a Western Continent, the Monkey King discovered a Xian/仙 called 須菩提祖師 (Xuputi Zushi) who was willing to teach him the ways of the Dao/道 & Immortality! After 20 Years of Training, the Monkey (now named by Puti as 孫悟空 = Sun Wukong - Monkey Awake-Void) showed Great Promise & Skill, but also Pride & Impulsivity, so Puti revoked him as a disciple & requested him to go back to his Original Home, as well as told him to not tell anyone that he was his disciple! - Growing in Power (aka, attaining 如意金箍棒 [Ruyi Jingu Bang] from 敖廣 [Ao Guang], wiping His & Many Monkeys' Names off the Yanluo's Book of Death and making a Pack with 6 妖王 [Yao-Kings] from across the Land), Sun Wukong brought prosperity to his Mountain, it's Monkeys & Yaoguai/妖怪! - But Growing in Amorality, Sun Wukong also Stole from the Tian Palace, Started a War against the Tian Army & Tried to Overthrow 玉皇大帝 / Yuhuang Dadi [Jade-Emperor, Great-Deity]! He even proclaimed himself as 齊天大聖 / Qitian Dasheng [Equal-Tian, Great-Sage] to make up for the lowly rank the Tian Court gave him! For all of his crimes towards the Tian Palace & becoming Too Powerful to Kill or even Stop, the Court sought help from सिद्धार्थ गौतम [Siddhārtha Gautama] himself, who then Tricked & Imprisoned the Great Sage! - Freed from his 500 Year Imprisonment to guard a Tang Monk on a Journey to India, Wukong still showed Amorality & Unruliness! Thus, was tricked by his new Shifu/師傅 [Master] into wearing a Tight Magic Fillet (given to the Monk by the Merciful Bodhisattva, अवलोकितस्वर / Avalokitasvara or 觀音 / Guanyin) to tame his Violent & Prideful Nature. Thus, the Long Journey & 81 Trials begins... - During the 14-Year Long Travel, Sun Wukong & the Tang Monk gained Three Companions (thanks to Guanyin), also willing to help the Monk on the Journey! 1) Yu Lóng [玉龍] A Jade Lóng/龍 (Dragon) turned White Horse 2) Zhu Bajie/Wuneng [豬八戒/豬悟能] A Black Yao/妖 Pig 3) Sha Wujing [沙悟淨] A Sand Yaksa/यक्ष - While Wukong himself was Banished Twice by his Shifu for Still Being Violent & Ruthless, Along the Journey He Learned Restraint and Lessened His Wild & Unruly Nature! Even Using His Mischief & Many Abilities to help or save Plenty of Towns & Villages! Speaking of which... - Venturing towards India, our Group encountered Many Yaoguai [妖怪] & Mo-Kings [魔王] who often wanted to devour the Tang Monk's Flesh to attain Immortality! Most were Slayed or Subdued, usually thanks to Wukong with help from many Shen [神], Xian [仙], Lóng-Kings [龍王], Tudi Gong [土地公], Deva/Devi [देव/देवी] & even Bodhisattva [बोधिसत्त्व]! - So, After Guarding the Tang Monk through the 81 Trials, Subduing Many Yaoguai & Mo-Kings, Saving Several Towns & Villages and delivering the Scriptures (mostly) Safe & Sound to India & back to the Tang Nation of China, Gautama rewarded Sun Wukong, Sha Wujing & the Tang Monk all Buddhahood (Due to being still Lustful & Greedy, Zhu Bajie became a Deified Janitor instead) with the White Lóng/龍 Horse becoming a Bodhisattva Nāga/नाग and thus All Attained Enlightenment & in Wukong's case, True Freedom with his Tight-Fillet finally gone! - Which also ends my Account of this Famous Chinese Story... 1592, Record of Journey to the West
