It’s not just about hearing: Why getting help for hearing loss is also a psychological journey
Hearing loss affects the brain and well-being, so why don’t more people get help? It’s a psychological journey as much as a medical one.

They mean well, but sometimes people need to be gently reminded to MYOB about my #ChronicIllness —in a nice way, of course (because I'm Canadian). How do I do this? Learn more in my new @healthcentral.bsky.social column.

I get back from my mini vacation on Monday so hopefully I'll be able to work on my new website Monday or Tuesday. Trying to focus on actually decompressing and relaxing given chronic pain and chronic illness. #disabled #spoonie #chronicillness #chronicpain #zebra

Tick-bite illnesses can be complex and debilitating. Are we any closer to understanding them?

THIS! Applies to many aspects of medicine.

How do I talk to my husband about my chronic health problems/pain without dismissing his feelings on the matter? I know how badly it's been affecting his mental health to watch and that can manifest physical problems but I am the one in actual agony. I don't know a day where I'm not. #chronicillness

Cleaning the kitchen. Got some done. Decided to do dishes. I was able to sit for the first stuff, but of course, I have to stand for dishes. All I've done is start the water and my back hurts. Fml.

Being sick on top of having a #ChronicIllness is just cruel... I've been wanting to draw, but all of last week I was far too fatigued

Made it to a fur meet on Saturday, had to just sit and chill

Then this week I've had sinus issues and a cough on top of everything I normally suffer with

Old potato-ass video but still true. If I make disability-related posts, I’m “obsessed” with being disabled (or just faking) but if I make other stuff like Let’s Plays, I still get shit for it. Apparently spoonies can’t have hobbies.

In 2 to 3 days I'll have yet another medication for the #dystonia.

Hoping this one works, bc I'm exhausted and actually miss messaging people (when typing/texting isn't a problem, talking is and vise versa).

I really need some fun in my life soon. The last 4-5 months have been tough and I just need something light and fluffy... and hugs... and laughter.

Will go cook a big batch of chili con carne, then I can at least cheer up mum. She's been begging for ages that I cook something.
