Instagram tightens user rules: under-18s must use a 'child-friendly' version

Instagram users under 18 will automatically be placed in a restricted version of the app. Unless parents give permission, those users cannot view content intended for adults. The new rule currently applies only to the United States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. Europe is expected to follow in 2026.
