Here we go…again! 😩

Greg Abbott is running for governor again and campaigning on property-tax reform. His campaign launched with a proposal to ELIMINATE school-district property taxes for homeowners.

So what does his proposal mean for K-12 public education in Texas?

Human-eating zombies.✅
Humans gone mad.✅
The world is in chaos.✅
AND ROMANCE!✅
Yes, please! 😂
Who knew I’d love a zombie rom-com so much! This was the perfect kind of distraction I needed during the fall of our democracy.
I need book 2 to come out like yesterday because that ending left me 😱🤯

Spooky season calls for stories set in haunted houses that whisper scary things to you to drive you mad.
4🌟 Anything Harrison writes is fun!

This was equal parts hilarious, heartfelt, and a whole lot of unhinged in the BEST way!

I ended up loving this flawed hero, dark humor read!

We celebrate and read diverse stories all year long, but this month we shine an extra light on books that honor Hispanic voices - their culture, traditions, and sometimes, their struggles.

I challenge you to read this and hear the voice of a boy whose story deserves to be told!

UNPUTDOWNABLE but oh my geez this is a horrifying, haunting, and devastating read from the very beginning until the very end.
Definitely check your trigger warnings before you dive into this one because once you start you won’t be able to get away.

You’ll get some wonderful yummy recipes with this read! 😆 No, really! 🧆🍝🍜🥘

Celebrity chef Maria Capello built her empire on charm, talent, and maybe…murder. 👀 Maybe some recipes should never be shared!

If you’re a foodie and a mystery reader this was UNPUTDOWNABLE!

This is an unflinching, gut-punch read that pulls you in from the first page and refuses to let you come up for air. It’s messy, raw, & oh so devastating, but it’s also so very achingly human.
I’m emotionally drained, disturbed, & deeply moved all at once.

UNPUTDOWNABLE! 5🌟 AGAIN!

Then...

We would be an America where leadership means lifting others, where truth matters, and where hope is not naive but necessary.

That’s the America we should be.
That’s the America we must be, together, with all, and for all.

Then...

We would be an America where public schools are places of possibility, and teachers are trusted guides, not political targets.

We would be an America where being different is safe, being honest is honored, and being free means all of us are free.
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Then...

We would be an America where inclusion isn’t a buzzword, a bad word, but a daily practice that lifts everyone.

We would be an America where our systems reflect our values, and our values are rooted in dignity, respect, and justice.
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Then...

We would be an America where innovation thrives because every mind, regardless of zip code and bank account, is nourished and empowered.

We would be an America where diversity is not a challenge to overcome, but our greatest source of wisdom and strength, and is honored and celebrated.
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Then...

We would be an America where we lead the world not just in power, but in principles.

We would be an America where prosperity is measured not just in profit, but in well-being, in equity, and in access.

What if we lived up to the words etched in our founding documents, not just recited them in monotony?

What if “liberty and justice for all” wasn’t just a pledge we repeat in tedious routine, but a truth we actually realize?

Then…
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
What if patriotism meant not blind loyalty, but brave critique & courageous action for the betterment of the nation as a whole and not just the few.

What if democracy wasn’t just something we inherit but something we build, protect, and expand every day?

What if love - ALL LOVE - really did win?
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
What if healthcare, education, and dignity were treated as true inalienable rights, not rewards for the affluent few?

What if we held our leaders accountable not to power, but to people?

What if we remembered that resistance to tyranny is how this country was born?
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
What if we truly listened to those whose voices have long been ignored, silenced?

What if we made true changes so that justice wasn’t a privilege but a promise…for all, not just some?

What if we taught and worked on not fearing our differences but instead celebrated them?
June 14, 2025 at 10:23 PM
What if we stopped turning away and started leaning into empathy?

What if compassion weren’t seen as weakness but honored as our greatest strength?

What if we worked tirelessly so that every child felt safe, seen, and loved in their schools, neighborhoods, and homes?

Did you know that in the late 1860s, a group of freed people from Mississippi established a self-sustaining, cooperative community they called the Kingdom of the Happy Land?

I didn’t. I do now!

This was a great historical fiction read!

I went from a MEH 3 ⭐️ to an ALRIGHT-ALRIGHT 3.5–4 ⭐️ and now I definitely want to read book 2. So yeah, I was annoyed at first but now I’m intrigued. 😅 It’s not perfect, but it hooked me by the end. It’s flawed but fun!
